Schmausbuch Nummer 2: The Stories Part 2

Carrot-Coriander-Soup
Quick: 1933, Howard A. Trafton; Trump mediäval: 1954, Georg Trump
This soup is one of many served as soup-of-the-day in a lot of places. We have chosen Carrot-Coriander-Soup often at the Priory in Burford, and we enjoyed it every time. Burford is a lovely town in the Cotswolds, UK, where we alway made a detour to when staying for the Oxford Fine Press Book Fair.
The sweeping Quick accompanies a number of variations of Trump mediäval. My studio holds quite a few fonts designed by Georg Trump (1896-1985). For many years he was chief typedesigner at Weber typefoundry in Stuttgart.
Beans for All
Titula: 1956, Alfred Finsterer; Helvetica: 1957, as Neue Haas Grotesk, Max Miedinger); Duo licht + Duo dunkel: 1954, Alfred Finsterer; Privat: 1966, J. J. Siercke
Titula and Duo have been designed by Alfred Finsterer (1908-1996), both consisting of capital letters only. Finsterer had Titula cast at Klingspor typefoundry. He used it for his own projects exclusively. One textblock is set from Privat, resembling a note scribbled in by somebody.
