Like Helvetica, Delphin was on stock in various sizes in almost all printing offices. It was a favourite for annoncing weddings and births. More often than not the type was quite worn down from being used a lot. Georg Trump must have enjoyed designing two variants each for lower case g and d. It was no problem fitting them in with the bigger grades since the tucked standing within their case in rows and you just squeeze them in. But in the smaller grades each letter needs to go into their specific pigeonhole and there are no two spare ones of those, they are all taken. So some compositors choose to putting them in their respective place together, mixed, others sorted the variants seperately into where spacing usually went.

Peatcutter

Peatcutters were hard working people away from home all day cutting peat to fuel the hearth. Just as miners were working long shifts to haul up coal as fuel, or ore for that matter. A traditional meal for miners were Cornish Pasties, and the peatcutters recipe has taken inspiritation there. Thus this was the recipe to be set from Futura, a font designed for getting work done even if it is hard, accordingly there are a lot of varieties in style. Also there is what used to be called Futura-Ornaments.

One of the ingredients of Peatcutters as well as Cornish Pasty is swede or rutabaga. It is an almost ancient vegetable and thus the text is set from an old font: Parlamentsfraktur.
