Planting season and harvest time have arrived: good reasons for the studio to open for a “Day of Quinces”. Quince trees are easy to grow in the garden and most of them are robust. In spring their flowers feed the bumblebees, during summer their foliage feeds insects on which feed the birds that have to feed their chicks – and in autumn we can pick the lovely golden quinces. But still the tree puts a smile on our faces: for a pretty long time, in some years even into November, its leaves keep the colours of autumn in our gardens.

Quinces have been a theme in a few works of art at The Fork and Broom Press. On Harvest Festival Day, 4th October, the studio opens for an exhibition and there will be a special feature this time: we have spent a lot of time to get an extra room ready for giving you a chance to try out some of the delicious stuff we prepare from quinces. I will be front cooking for you lot. Let yourself be surprised!

All of this will be taking place at Prieshof, which is the local name of the old farm the studio is located in ever since we moved to Oppenwehe in 2016.
