A Tour of the Jubilee-Exhibition

The jubilee exhibition “25 Years of Printmaking” has been open from 21 to 23 June.

Articles were in both our regional newspapers, and the newspaper in the former location of the studio, in the region of Göppingen, printed an article about what has become of good old studio bleiklötzle after it has moved north and got renamed to what is now The Fork and Broom Press.

All of you who did not have the opportunity to come and see the exhibition in person, are now cordially invited to join in on a tour around the barn in photos and a little video (which has no sound).

The whole space in our barn covers some 200 sqm of ground (plus some hanging space along the walls). Since the history of the studio had been told chronologically on this blog already with the time travel from 1999 to 2024, the exhibition was arranged along themes.

The Human Rights section

The whole exhibition was divided in six themes referring to the fields my art works cover: Literature&Poetry, Fairy Tales&Legends, Nature&Travel, Human Rights, Philosophy and Typography. For each theme I printed flags to mark the area where the respective works were on show.

A little reminder:

The new artist‘s book will be on the table at 9. BiennaleBuchkunstWeimar on 7 + 8 December 2024. Save the date and watch this space for more news to come nearer the date.

These brochures come with one recipe each. All three recipes will also be part of the jubilee book, which will come with roughly a dozen recipes altogether. It will be cloth bound and a limited edition of, guess what: 25 copies each of them nubered and signed.

PS
Now, if you just wondered why there seem to be no visitors in the exhibition, let me tell you why. We take photos and videos with no visitors present simply for privacy reasons. We do not want people to feel the need to move on because they do not want to be part of a photo that might in the end be put online. We do not want them to feel uneasy because we walk through the space taking photos or filming. We want people who come to the exhibitions feel comfortable with taking their time looking at the pictures and browsing the books on the tables. We want everybody feeling welcome and having a good time in our bespoke barn. This is why we take the pictures while no visitors are around. Always.

  1. Hello Annette,
What a fabulous looking exhibition. Congratulations and what a lot of work. It is such a shame that I couldn’t be there in person.

    1. Many thanks, Marianne – it is such a lot of miles between Australia and Oppenwehe. But lucky us we have the internet and can share the images at least. I am sending a hug your way! Annette

    1. Thanks Carolyn. Yes, we are so lucky this lovely barn was part of the old farm here. It would be ever so nice to be able and catch up some time at Oxford. Fingers crossed! All the best to you and Peter – happy printing! Annette
